First Wind is a leader in wind power, the fastest growing renewable energy in the world. Their wind farms are located in northeastern and western United States including Hawaii, and are producing over 500 megawatts (MW) of clean electricity.

First Wind wanted its new headquarters in Boston to be the communication hub for their entire business. The audiovisual systems were an integral part of achieving this goal. Red Thread was brought on to provide state-of-the-art AV systems that met their needs and were seamlessly and easy to operate. The requirements for the AV Systems included, live monitoring of power production, ability to meet and collaborate anytime, convey company messaging and key information to visitors and employees.

The sixteen foot wide video wall showcases the capabilities a 24 x 7 command center. Fully digital matrix switching and processing enable multiple layouts to provide easy access to key information. The surveillance team constantly monitors key stats to ensure energy power levels are maintained at all times.

Throughout the space, technology facilitates easily accessing and sharing of information for real time collaboration. The boardroom and conference rooms have dual display videoconferencing systems to communicate with team members situated all over the world. All rooms have easy access to live power production data from wind farms. The Lobby displays convey key messaging to visitors and café displays are utilized for employees to relax with gaming or listening to the news. All systems are controlled by intuitive touch interfaces custom designed to ensure ease of use.
