Philips Solid State Lighting (Color Kinetics)
When Philips Solid State Lighting Solutions (formerly Color Kinetics) made plans to move from downtown Boston to Burlington, it wasn’t just about moving into a larger facility – it was about creating a more effective testing ground and showplace for the future of light. Enlisted by architecture firm Sasaki & Associates, Red Thread’s contributions to this exceptional 50,000 square foot headquarters begin in the reception area, where eight ceiling-mounted projectors create a dramatic, largescale display. Challenged to execute upon the architect’s vision for the space, Red Thread engineers leveraged a cutting-edge imaging solution to create the multi-image display without the use of individual screens. Red Thread’s audio visual expertise was also employed in the company’s many conference rooms. Providing AV equipment such as projectors, screens, flat panels, video conferencing, and interactive whiteboards, Red Thread ensured that the furniture in each new conference room effectively supported the technology available in that room. Red Thread also outfitted the entire facility, providing furniture from Steelcase, Alea, Bernhardt and other manufacturers for the company’s showroom, offices, open workspaces, engineering facilities and other rooms. Careful configuration of workstations by Red Thread’s design team allows the company to easily accommodate future growth. |
