PrepMD
PrepMD’s state of the art training facility in Braintree, MA provides clinical medical device training and placement services. The company executives wanted to create a space that reflected their high tech brand, attracted students and facilitated instruction of an advanced scientific curriculum within their field of expertise. The training facility is comprised of several independent and divisible didactical training rooms, a Simulation Laboratory and Programming Bar. The integration of interactive technology in each space encourages collaboration as the central method of learning. In the training rooms, instructors and students control computer applications at the front of the class using a Smart Technology interactive whiteboard and ceiling mounted projector. The use of this tool promotes interest and participation. The Simulation Lab replicates the human heart and allows students to practice the operating procedures, monitor the heart status and program the device for patient improved cardiac performance. Steelcase’s media:scape solution is utilized for PrepMD’s Programming Bar. By seamlessly integrating furniture and technology, students connect a laptop and share their programming work on any or all of the quad displays. Students receive guidance from local or remote instructors via the built-in videoconferencing. Together, these technologies create a unique and dynamic way to learn. “Frank Tenaglia and the entire team at Red Thread have been great partners for PrepMD. They guided us through their technology options while directing us to key resources such as the architectural firm THERE Design who, along with Red Thread, provided critical guidance by organizing our space and assisting in the selection of furniture and materials. Red Thread's expertise enabled us to maximize the use of our facility, while staying within our budget, and helped us to create an image and a brand that resonates well with everyone who comes into our facility. Additionally, the Red Thread team, in particular their assembly and technical staff, ensured that if there was any need for ongoing service to furniture or equipment, that need was met without hesitation.” Bob Mattioli |
