OneDigital – Hartford, CT

OneDigital prioritizes employee needs in new 19,000 SF post-COVID space.

Back in 2019, OneDigital CT started their workplace transformation journey with Red Thread by redesigning their space to better align with their culture. After being in the same office for over ten years, OneDigital needed a refresh to match their “we’ve got your back” mantra and reflect its Hartford Business Journal win of Best Employee Benefits Firm in the Professional Services category.

COVID-19 hit in March and our conversations about moving six minutes away to 195 Scott Swamp Road continued, but were now including social distancing, employee safety, and increased privacy. To solve for these concerns, we helped modify their original design to offer flexibility and ensure employees felt comfortable returning to the office by adding glass partitions between desks, swapping fabrics out for ones that were easier to clean, and adding sanitizing stations throughout. We also installed a folding glass wall in the training room in addition to dozens of huddle rooms with glass fronts.

The newly outfitted 19,000-square-foot office also includes a mix of cubicles, lounge seating, various nooks and crannies where employees can work away from their desks with supported technology throughout.

“We truly believe our office impacts our most important asset- our people. The relationship and connection we had with Red Thread helped redefine this new space to better align with our innovative culture while maintaining post-COVID protocols,” said Emily Bailey, Managing Principle at OneDigital. “This process took a lot of turns due to the pandemic, but the collaboration between Red Thread and QA+M helped streamline quick, live design and value engineering to meet key objectives – all within our budget.”
