As we celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th, a day dedicated to honoring the achievements and contributions of women worldwide, we embark on a journey to amplify the voices and perspectives that shape our daily experiences. This year, we’re taking a moment to weave together the diverse thoughts and insights of the incredible women who bring vibrancy and strength to our office.

Join us in this celebration as we share stories, experiences, and the wisdom that emanates from the brilliant women who inspire and lead within our workplace:

How do some of the talents or passions of your team members contribute to their success and happiness in the role?

“Our design team has many skills, but what really stands out is their natural knack for problem-solving. Over the years, it’s clear they’re more than just good at what they do; they’re great at adapting to changes and tackling challenges with creative solutions. They genuinely enjoy figuring out problems and finding new ways to solve them. This isn’t limited to just work; it spills over into their everyday lives and helps them succeed both professionally and personally. They’re like problem-solving champs – always finding a way to come out on top in different situations.” – Aimee Jean, Director of Design

Reflecting on your career, who has been a key mentor or role model for you? How have they influenced your path, and how do you pay it forward in supporting others?

“My Dad has always been more than a parent to me; he’s been a guiding force in my professional journey. He is extremely intelligent and hardworking but most of all he cares about people, and he cares about doing the right thing….always. I used to work at his office when I would come home from college breaks so I got to see that as exceptional as he was at the work he performed, he was even better with people. He always took the time to help someone. His unwavering dedication to support others, coupled with his tireless work ethic, intelligence, and respect for all, has shaped me profoundly. From his example, I try to do things to the best of my ability, lead with empathy and integrity and always treat people with kindness and respect. These qualities have become the cornerstone of how I approach work and life.” – Jennifer Landman, Director of Project Management and Sales Support

What piece of advice do you have for women when it comes to identifying and growing new business opportunities?

“Networking as a woman in business goes beyond sharing opportunities; it’s about building a supportive community. By surrounding yourself with people who inspire your thinking, boost your energy, and have your back when you need it most, you create genuine connections that yield results for years to come.” – Dawn Monde, SVP Strategic Accounts/Client Services

Achieving work-life balance can be a constant challenge. What strategies or practices have you found effective in maintaining a healthy balance between your professional and personal life?

“Work-life balance hinges on our ability to set boundaries, be brave with our priorities, and learn to say “no.” One-size-fits-all schedules need to become a thing of the past. Making time for personal appointments, regular exercise, kid activities, etc., are all completely acceptable and necessary to be a whole person. Organizations often allow employees to act as adults and set schedules. It’s our perception that making ourselves central in planning is somehow taboo. Learning to decline projects, after-hours events, and initiatives that would put us in “energy drain” mode is also fundamental. As women, we’re not often given permission to be comfortable with our capacity. We perceive that we’re somehow unsuccessful if we haven’t driven ourselves into the ground. In our personal and work lives, we need to discern what is essential, what will fill us with energy, and what will help propel us to our goals.” – Stephanie Brock, VP & GM Maine

As we wrap up our celebration of International Women’s Day, the insights and stories from the amazing women in our office highlight the importance of their voices in shaping our shared experiences. Their strength and inspiration contribute to the diverse tapestry of our workplace. Let’s keep supporting equality, lifting up diverse voices, and working together for a more inclusive future.
