NeoCon 2018 has come and gone and for Steelcase, It’s A New Day.

From partnerships to innovative products, Steelcase had no shortage of exciting announcements at this year’s NeoCon. The showroom was bustling with excitement and activity as people took in the new WorkLife and WorkCafe on the 3rd floor of Chicago’s Merchandise Mart. In a world where the workplace is constantly changing, Steelcase is making great strides to stay ahead of the curve and help create the spaces of the future.

NEW SHOWROOM

Just in time for NeoCon, the Chicago showroom was completely redesigned to incorporate new insights on how people work. New products, finishes, and settings were added to the WorkLife to support residents in a variety of tasks. Using new products and technology, designers created a Smart + Connected Workplace that will allow employees to be more engaged and productive.

The Steelcase WorkCafe was created to give people an informal space to work and socialize. The space features ancillary solutions from the Steelcase family and a wide array of new partners. A large range of applications support residents whether they need to collaborate, socialize, focus, or rejuvenate.

The space was awarded Best in Competition in the IIDA/Contract Magazine Showroom & Booth Design Competition and named the Large Showroom category winner.

People waste 20-30 minutes a week trying to find a place to meet, and it can be even worse for managers and highly mobile workers. From large outdoor furniture pieces to artisan throws and accessories, these partners each bring their own unique offerings. The new partners featured below focus on the hottest trends in design right now, ancillary furniture and phone booths.

SnapCab

The demand for enclosed spaces is high. Office pods are becoming the superhero solution to consistent problems in the workplace like noise, distraction and lack of privacy. In 2017, SnapCab introduced and won a Best of NeoCon award for the introduction of SnapCab Pod. Now Steelcase is the exclusive distributor of SnapCab Pods for corporate environments.

Extremis

Extremis, a renowned Belgian furniture design group, helps Steelcase expand their outdoor offerings. The company’s ethos is derived from the quote: “Don’t make anything, unless it is both necessary and useful … and if it is, don’t hesitate to make it beautiful.” With that in mind, Extremis makes furniture suited for the outdoors and indoors in completely non-standard ways.
