Responsible Furniture Disposal
If you have office furniture that you no longer want or need, we can help.
Circular by Steelcase consultants can evaluate your furniture inventory and offer options for reuse, all with a “zero landfill” goal. The intent is for these used products to be placed back into service for reuse with other organizations, or because of age and condition of the used products, be recycled into new usable products. There are many options from which to choose with social, environmental, and economic benefits.

Technology Recycling
We work to maintain a zero-landfill policy for technology.
Our recycling center manages end-of-life services for customer technology products.
95% of the products were e-waste, that would have ended up in a landfill. We partner with a certified e-waste handler to break these items down and recycle them as steel/circuit boards/plastics and then put into the recycled product stream. The remaining 5% is sold into a secondary market for reuse.
Sustainability Certifications
LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)
LEED is the most widely used green building certification system in the world. It provides a framework for creating healthy, efficient, and sustainable spaces. LEED-certified environments are designed to reduce energy use, conserve water, and improve occupant well-being.
BIFMA LEVEL®
LEVEL is the sustainability certification for furniture from BIFMA (the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association). It evaluates products for their environmental and social impacts—covering materials, energy use, human health, and corporate responsibility—so you can trust that your furniture supports people and the planet.
SCS Global Services Indoor Air Quality
Indoor Air Quality standards ensure that furniture and finishes meet strict emissions criteria, contributing to healthier indoor environments. Products that meet IAQ requirements help minimize pollutants and off-gassing, improving comfort and well-being for everyone in the space.
