Behind the Scenes: Leadership Built Here

At Red Thread, change has always meant opportunity. This year, we celebrate both the legacy of those who’ve built our company and the next generation of leaders carrying it forward.

Honoring Our Legacy, Celebrating What’s Next

For more than several decades, Don Marshall and Larry Levine have been cornerstones of our leadership. As they prepare for retirement later this year, we celebrate their remarkable careers and lasting impact on our people, our culture, and our clients.

Their succession has been years in the making. This October, Catherine Mendel, John Dennehy, and Jason Chapman will step into new roles as Executive Vice Presidents, guiding our Boston and Connecticut offices with energy, experience, and vision.

Catherine’s story reflects the culture of Red Thread itself. She began her career here 22 years ago as a sales coordinator and has since advanced through roles in sales and senior leadership — from director to VP to SVP.  Today, she joins the executive team — a testament to our commitment to developing people and promoting from within.  Over that time, she has built client partnerships that span more than 20 years, helping organizations evolve their workplace strategies to support culture, performance, and growth.

John’s journey started in the architecture and design industry before joining Red Thread on our design team. He later moved into sales, where he thrived for six years, before taking on leadership of the sales team. From there, he became VP overseeing Sales and A&D, then SVP guiding both New Business Development and A&D.  His career bridges creativity, client strategy, and market leadership — and he is recognized for building long-lasting partnerships across our client base and the broader industry.

Jason began his career as a sales representative in the industry before joining Red Thread as Director of New Business Development. He quickly rose to lead our Stamford office, then expanded his role as SVP for Connecticut, overseeing furniture and architectural walls. Today, he steps into EVP with deep regional expertise and a proven track record of building strong, enduring partnerships with clients and influencers across Connecticut.

Their combined journeys highlight what defines us: building careers, developing leaders, and fostering a culture rooted in growth and long-term dedication to our clients and communities.

Here’s to honoring our past and building an even brighter future!
