Sun Life U.S. has recently relocated its Connecticut office to the heart of downtown Hartford, situated in the iconic One Financial Plaza, best known as “The Gold Building.” This strategic shift seamlessly integrates with Sun Life’s comprehensive digital transformation goals, highlighting their acknowledgment of the necessity for a modern and flexible office design that accommodates changing work dynamics in the post-pandemic landscape. Spanning an expansive 47,000 square feet, the new space is meticulously crafted to provide diverse work environments, including the dynamic “Collaboration Arena” for group interactions, the serene “Library” conducive to focused work, and the vibrant “Village” fostering social engagement.

In response to the evolving needs of the workforce, the new environment features a range of amenities designed to enhance productivity and well-being. These include Zoom-enabled meeting rooms, innovative treadmill desks, a dedicated relaxation room, a tranquil space for meditation, aesthetically pleasing moss walls, and even a recreational ping-pong table. Incorporating a combination of private offices and meeting rooms provides employees the flexibility to transition seamlessly between concentrated, individual work and collaborative sessions. Each room is carefully crafted, featuring Steelcase VIA glass walls to guarantee maximum acoustical privacy.
