Red Thread redesigns its East Hartford space to amplify performance.

In a complex and increasingly competitive world, workplace actually does matter. Innovative companies lead by designing spaces that inspire their employees and provide them with the tools and technologies that allow them to connect with one another locally, regionally and globally. In today’s office, space needs to do more; space needs to amplify performance.

With this in mind, Red Thread recast its space at 300 East River Drive, East Hartford to drive strategy, brand and culture through a comprehensively crafted space. Often, real estate needs are the drivers behind workplace change. This was no exception for Red Thread and their real estate situation provided an opportunity to do for themselves what they do for customers – work deliberately with employees and partners to create a space that;

Supports and inspires people
Builds brand and culture
Enhances collaboration
Encourages wellbeing through choice and control
Optimizes real estate

Red Thread used workplace research from Steelcase to create a space that is optimized for today’s workplace needs and considers the wellbeing of their people, teams and enterprise. The open plan highlights the broad range of Red Thread’s portfolio of products and helps clients envision how to leverage their own space as a strategic asset. According to Jenny Niemann, CEO, “the design intent for the new space was clearly defined at the outset, to demonstrate how flexible spaces can enhance employee focus, learning, and collaboration. This was achieved through the seamless integration of our architecture, furniture and technology portfolio.”

The Red Thread East Hartford showroom guides you through a rich landscape that illustrates the interconnected workplace. Beautiful and functionally designed reception, hospitality and customer oasis areas are perfect for welcoming guests and engaging in casual conversations. The “Garage”, Red Thread’s multi-purpose room, showcases a new style of training and active learning environment that utilizes both analog and digital technology. Shared benching solutions for mobile workers and thoughtful resident work spaces are flanked by project team areas of varying sizes designed to enhance interaction. Private enclaves, which provide the ability to perform focused work or have private conversations, are strategically designed into the space. These complementary vignettes allow workers the ability to control where and how they work, which ultimately promotes productivity, wellbeing and happiness. And throughout the environment, audiovisual tools are integrated to support the different modes of work and demonstrate Red Thread’s capabilities.

In crafting this highly flexible and multi-faceted environment in the renovated East Hartford facility, Red Thread deliberately focuses on designing intentional spaces that serve to welcome, inform and engage customers while simultaneously supporting their employees. This unique space represents definable solutions that will help clients envision how their own space can drive business results for today and well into the future.
